Thing #10

I've run into a few of these name generators before, but I had no idea there were /so/ many different generators. I made a tin can label, as you can see. Now I have no problem with Christmas joy, before anyone thinks so. I love Christmas myself. But it was what I came up with! Nice. These things are handy.

Thing #9

I was having difficulty in my search today. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what. I would like more feeds with book reviews, so I searched for "book reviews", but I'm not coming up with much that I want. I'm not sure how to find more like that, I'll have to experiment more. I tried the feedster search engine and the topix engine. I think I like the topix one a bit better. At least, it seemed to be giving me results that were closer to what I wanted, if not exactly what I wanted. I'll definitely have to keep searching and try to figure out how to better search for these things. Maybe I could just search on google and see what ones have RSS feeds.

Thing #8

Wow! A friend of mine had told me about RSS feeds before, but I didn't really listen.. now I wish I had! This is a really easy way to handle all those things. It's inspiring me to find more things to keep track of, since it'll be this easy to keep up with. My mom actually uses Bloglines, but I didn't know this is what it was. I thought it was some exclusively for keeping up with blogs from blogger, which was of no use to me. I'm very pleased to find out that I was wrong. I'll be using this!

So.. anything about technology. I don't really have much knowledge on that subject. I do use my computer at my house way too much for my own good, so I know how to use programs one uses at home. And, of course, because of school I'm familiar with Microsoft Word. I know I could use some more knowledge, though, which is why I decided to do this Learning 2.0. My aunt is a librarian and just this weekend was showing us some things on Google that we could use. She's a great librarian, so I hope I can gain that kind of knowledge and love it like she does. I look forward to learning more! And I think some curiosity has been awakened in me as well. I think I'm off to a good start for my library career.

Thing #6

I looked at the programs Flickr had listed and came across this one called retrievr. That was pretty neat! You sketch something out and it finds pictures that are similar. Sometimes I don't know how on earth I got certain pictures for what I drew, but other times it's really obvious and pretty neat. I'll keep that tool in mind! It seems like it could be really handy.

Link and Zelda

Link and Zelda
Originally uploaded by evil angela.
Well, I'm afraid to say I'm a video game geek, and for Christmas I got the new Zelda game, Twilight Princess. I've been playing it obsessively, so I can hopefully finish before college starts up again. So, when I thought about what to try to look up as interesting picture.. I decided I should look up "link zelda" and see what I got. Unsurprisingly, I got pictures of people dressed up as Link and Zelda. So there they are! Link is on the left, Zelda on the right. I would /never/ dress up like video game characters myself. That's a little scary. But I have to say, their costumes are really quite good! I'm impressed. If you're gonna do it, might as well do it right.
